Question #1:

Why do Cons keep saying that small businesses don't want to provide health care for their employees?

To be competitive to get the best employees, I have to provide my employees with the best benefits. I WANT to be able to provide them with health insurance, but with one older employee and one that had cancer a few years back, I couldn't get insurance for them - at any cost. Consequently, I lost my best employee to my competitor!

Now with the new health care plan, I will be able to buy health insurance for my employees.

Are Cons really FOR small business, or is that just a LIE - the status quo meant that only big businesses (the elite) could get the best employees - so the rich keep getting richer and the middle class disappears?
coldfuse -

Because my son is finally able to see a doctor now - for the first time in 4 years. He is BUYING a policy from the new health care plan.
DON -

I think that if a business wants to be able to provide health insurance they shouldn't be PREVENTED from doing so.
smsmith -

For years we wanted to CHOOSE to BUY health insurance but didn't have that choice.
julvrug -

Obviously you've never owned a small business. We did have health insurance for our employees, but once we got a "non-renewal" notice, we were toast. We contacted every health insurance company licensed to do business in our state, but were denied by every single one. And yes - we lost our best employee because she needed health insurance because of a pre-existing condition (she had cancer a few years before) and couldn't get anything on her own.

You also have bought into the lies. Doctors are not required to take patients - with the exception of hospitals. They are required to take emergency patients, but are only required to stabilize them. My son could not walk into a hospital and ask for an MRI unless he had collapsed.

Don't buy into the lies. I will pray for you that you never have to experience what our family has gone through.
One more thing - the high risk pool is starting NOW, and the premiums are about $350 a month.

Question #2:

What's the difference between whole life insurance and senior life insurance?

Question #3:

Homeowners insurance claim coverage question for agents or adjusters #2.?

A skunk sprays the inside of an automobile.

1) Is it a covered loss?
2) Is there "damage"?
3) Is the air inside a vehicle covered property?
I meant "Auto" claim. I've had this issue before when someone poisoned mice in their garage and the mice died inside the car body. Obviously the odor is in the air. There's no physical damage to the car. And the air technically isn't insured property. But we felt a judge would frown on this argument. So it was paid.

Question #5:

Are there doctors that are glad we have health care reform?

My son just got to see a doctor for the first time in years because of the new high risk pools. The doctor he saw was very positive about health care reform, and wishes that Republican politicians would stop lying to the people about it. He said that he was tired of insurance companies getting between him and his patients, and that this is a good first step.

All I've heard before is that ALL doctors are against it. Are you a doctor that is glad we have health care reform?
So far, none of you that are against health care reform are MDs. You've just been brainwashed by your celebrity, but uneducated talk show hosts.

My son's doctor went to a very prestigious medical school - he explained lies and what the truth really is. HUGE eye-opener. He actually read the law. He is no Obama plant.

Question #6:

How do you fix a Blackberry Curve if it's been exposed to water/moisture damage?

I was talking on my phone in the bath, and my face maybe had a little bit of water in it but i wiped it off right away. But then after i got out of the bath, i tried to send a text and my Blackberry went crazy and starting typing on it's own, calling people, going on speaker and off, and just had a meltdown so i turned it off, and turned it back on, and it froze. What should i do? i don't have insurance and can't afford to replace it, so is there any way it can be fixed with some phone remedies? HELP!

Question #7:

CONTRACT SO BOYFRIEND DON'T GET HALF OF MY STUFF/PROPRETY?

Hi,

I just bought my first house and my boyfriend did not sign; therefore the house is in my name only.
I will be paying the down payment, mortgage, home insurance, taxes and other things. He will be living with me in my house but I do not want to be Comon Law so if ever we leave each other, he will not take half of my proprety and my things. What should I do in this situation? I am going to see a Notary (I think that the name, sorry im french) the person who I will meet and sign the final papers with the person who are selling the house and that is when I get the keys.

Anyway, Should I make a contract of some sort? Mention this to my Notary? He does not change his address? I want this to be MY house and not ours. I bought it myself, it's my mortgage, everything will be under MY name. all the bills will have my nae on them.

Anyone has any comments on this ?? I really need help.

Thanks
I am not living in the house yet, only in November 2010. He will come live there with me but it's my house, so after a year, we will be comon law ? which means, he can have half of my proprety ?

Have been go-karting since I was 8, will this make a difference?

Question #9:

My foreclosed house is being auctioned this week, do I still have to pay the homeowner's insurance?

We haven't been able to live in the house now for a year. We found out it is being auctioned by the lender - doesn't that mean that it is the bank that owns it? And then we shouldn't be liable if something happens, so we don't need the insurance? Any help would be appreciated. We don't have the money for the premium.
Thank you, Common sense. We bought the house outright. When our business went under everything was taken.
Gary, you are such a nice man. No, the house we did live in. I don't even know what an "investment " would be - haha.

Question #10:

Does the Constitution allow the government the power to mandate the citizens to purchase anything?

Like health insurance?
Where is this provision in the Constitution? The Constitution is a document that guarantees rights to citizens and limits the power of the government, however that seems to be backwards now.
Since Obama swore to uphold the Constitution when he took office, can we throw him out for subverting the Constitution? Along with all his accomplices?

Question #11:

Motorola Droid Wont Come On?

Ok, the droid has never been dropped in water or on the ground. it wont power on at all....no screen no keys...nothing. When i plug in the charger a little white LED comes on and thats it, nothing on the screen or anything....im worried, i dont have the money to get a new one and i dont have insurance on it. can someone tell me what this is?

Question #12:

do artists (painters, graphic artists, game art designers) get good money?

First: painter. I know if you suck at painting, you will be poor. But if you are actually decent and people pay to see your exhibits will you have financial stability? Will you have money to raise a family and get insurance coverage? do painters live at home and are hermits?

Second: graphic designer. The graphic designer probably makes posters and commercials and brochures for their design firm. Is this an accurate description? and do you get benefits and good money?

lastly and really important: game art design. I like to play video games, and i hear there is alot of money in the gaming industry. I prefer game art over game mechanics any day. But is it risky? do you get paid enough? do you get benefits? are your co-workers most likely eccentric and awkward or are they normal?

Question #13:

$1200 deductible plan or no deductible plan, which is more sensible for health insurance?

My employer is covering part of the monthly fee, and if I get the no deductible plan, I'll be paying about $120/mo out of pocket vs. $8/mo out of pocket for the plan with $1200 deductible. Which one makes more sense? I am 26, and relatively healthy. I am willing to pay more each month, but only if it's not a waste of my money. I don't want to keep paying doctor/hospital bills around $500+ if something comes up, and my insurance is covering nothing in that case because it's not over $1200.

Question #14:

3rd party insurance has decided to repair my car after a non fault crash, can they change their mind?

The 3rd party insurance engineer/assesor has said they will make good the damage. It was close to Write Off through percentage of cost. If the assessor missed old damage from a existing bump - can they change their mind? Or will the assessor have noted the damage made worse by recent non fault crash?

Where or who would I contact to file a complaint regarding violation of HIPPA laws?

This morning I went to a dental appointment. I reside in a small rural community. While waiting in the examining room the two receptionist were discussing insurance, treatment as well as other information regarding a patient including the patients full name. There is no reason for anyone in a professional setting to act in such an inappropriate manner. I never should have heard any of this information.
I would however the very sad reality is there are three dentist that work in this practice. All good dentist two men one woman. Sadly, the woman dentist was involved in the conversation. Welcome to rural America and Appalachia. I am originally from a major city perhaps this is the way things work in rural America.

Question #19:

Question about cavities?

Ok, I went to the dentist a few weeks ago after about a year~ of not going and she told me I had cavities...A LOT...I never in my life had cavities and I am 25. I always take care of my teeth and go to the dentist...The longest if been without going was that year and it was pure laziness... Now I am just afraid she might be saying it to get paid by the insurance. I feel so bad saying this, but I am such a jealous person when it comes to my teeth :-/ ....Also I look at my teeth and nobody would say I have a cavity....Yesterday I went to get one of my cavities taken care of and she showed me one of her tools with what she said was my cavity... it was like a buttery white stuff... Is this what cavities are supposed to look like??? She said it's just soft stuff laying inside of your tooth...What do you think? Oh, she also told me one of my tooth had a broken piece which was because of the cavity...Can cavity progress that way in such a short period of time...I thought that piece missing was because I took out my wisdom teeth about 7 months ago and I thought the doctor accidentally hit my tooth(its my last molar). I noticed that after I took my wisdom teeth out that's why I assumed that. I am probably been paranoid. :-S
